17-year-old girl killed in road traffic collision

The collision occurred shortly after 11am this morning in Coleraine, Co Derry.

EMMA SCOTT, A 17-year-old girl from the Aghadowey area, died yesterday in a road traffic accident in Northern Ireland.

The crash, which took place at the Creamery Road area in Coleraine, Co Derry happened this morning shortly before 11am.

The incident involved a collision between a silver Audi A4 and a red Mini.

The female who was fatally injured was driving the Mini when the crash happened.

A man and a woman, both of who were travelling in the Audi A4, were both taken to hospital following the incident with injuries not believed to be life threatening.

The Creamery Road between Ballyrashane Road and the Cloyfin Road remains closed and motorists are advised to take alternative routes.

The public are being urged by Inspector Alison Ferguson to come forward with any information about the incident to the Collision Investigation Unit at Steeple Police Station or to contact local Police at Coleraine Police Station.
