It was another successful year, with roughly 12,000 people believed to have taken part in the event.

KENYAN RUNNER LEZAN Kimutai has triumphed in the main event of the Great Limerick Run today, with a time of two hours, 25 minutes and five seconds.

In addition, Irish athletes Gary O’Hanlon and Phillip Harty finished second and third respectively, while Pauline Curley of Tullamore was the first woman to finish.

It was another successful year for the annual event, with roughly 12,000 people believed to have taken part.
