1. #LOVE LEAVES TOWN: Blues legend BB King has died in at the age of 89. One of the star’s best known songs – his U2 duet ‘Love Comes to Town’ – reached number 1 in the Irish Singles Chart in 1989.

2. #URSULA: TV3′s political editor, Ursula Halligan, has said the marriage referendum has encouraged her to be open about being gay. Writing in the Irish Times, she’s encouraging people to vote Yes in the upcoming marriage referendum.

3. #ABANDONED: Gardaí investigating the case of a baby abandoned on a roadside in Rathcoole last Friday will issue a fresh appeal for information later, according to RTÉ. Efforts are continuing to identify the mother of ‘Maria’.

4. #NEPAL: The wreckage of a US helicopter that went missing in Nepal earlier this week has been found, the BBC reports. It’s not known if there were any survivors.

5. #SHOOTING: A teenage boy has been injured in a shooting incident in Limerick city. It’s understood he sustained gunshot wounds to his leg.

6. #TRAIN CRASH: Rescuers with sniffer dogs have found an eighth victim in the mangled wreckage of a train that derailed in Philadelphia, as investigators focus on the engineer’s actions in the run-up to the crash.

7. #THAT’S UNEXPECTED: Failed US presidential candidate Mitt Romney is to step into the boxing ring with Evander Holyfield (it’s for charity).

8. #THEY’RE BACK: U2 played the first gig of their new world tour last night in Vancouver. People who were there have been raving about it on Twitter.
