1. #BURTON BOUNCE: The latest Behaviour and Attitude polls in the Sunday Times show Labour up by 7% to 14% support, the first time they have reached double figures in many months.

2. #ABORTION: The Sunday Independent reports that the woman at the centre of the first known test for the country’s new abortion laws believed her life was in danger. After she was refused an abortion by the expert panel it is reported she went on a hunger and thirst strike.

3.  #CURFEW: A state of emergency has been declared in Ferguson, Missouri in an attempt to quell protesters following the shooting of a teenage boy by a police officer.

4. #HUNGER STRIKE: An Irish teenager, Ibrahim Halawa, who was imprisoned one year ago in Cairo has gone on hunger strike, reports The Sunday Independent.

5. #GARTH BROOKS: The Daily Mail reports that Garth Brooks is gearing up for a legal battle over his five cancelled gigs and has hired an Irish law firm.

6.#WOMEN’S SPORT: Katie Taylor says she wants to see women’s sport get the same coverage as men’s sport and criticised the national broadcaster for not televising one of the country’s most successful sports.

7. #ESSEX: The BBC reports that police in the UK are hoping to question some of the people found inside a shipping container at Tilbury port.

8. #STUDENTS: The Sunday Times reports that universities are giving preference to students who achieved higher CAO points when allocating campus accommodation.

9. #BIG FELLA: The 92nd commemoration of Michael Collins and Arthur Griffith will be held today in Glasnevin Cemetery.
