Agger on the double as Liverpool draw 3-3 in Norway

WATCH: An injury-time equaliser denies Liverpool pre-season victory against Valerenga.

NEW BOYS JORDAN HENDERSON and Stewart Downing both made their first Liverpool starts as Kenny Dalglish’s side drew 3-3 against Valerenga of Norway last night.

Coming off the back of recent defeats against Hull City and Galatasaray, Dalglish named a side which was stronger than expected, recalling Pepe Reina, Daniel Agger and Glen Johnson to the first team.

And it was a late Agger brace which spared Liverpool’s blushes after the Premier League side fell two behind within the opening 20 minutes.

Lars Iver Strand opened the scoring for the hosts in the 14th minute before Fegor Ogude took advantage of a questionable penalty call, doubling their advantage from the spot five minutes later.

Liverpool had a slice of luck of their own three minutes before the break when Andy Carroll appeared to control the ball with his hand before firing home from close range.

Agger drew the Reds level with powerful header seven minutes from time, before he popped up at the back post with just two minutes remaining to score what looked to be the winner.

But, deep into the five minutes of injury time, Valerenga substitute Mohammed Fellah cracked home the home side’s third, beating Reina from 20 yards out.
