Remember Albert Riera? He's just been sacked by Udinese over 'worst club' tweet

Well, the former Man City star can chill out this Christmas.

SPANISH MIDFIELDER Albert Riera was sacked by Udinese, without ever playing a match in Italy, over an abusive tweet, Gazzetta dello Sport reported on Saturday.

The Friuli club issued a terse statement earlier this week announcing “the mutual cancellation of the payer’s contract”.

Their move came after the 32-year-old former Liverpool player tweeted that Udinese were “the worst club” he had played for.

Former Spain international Riera, who has also turned out for Bordeaux in France and Turkish club Galatasaray, joined Udinese in March and was immediately loaned to English Championship club Watford, in which Udinese owner Umberto Pozzo has an interest.
