WHATEVER YOU DO, don’t ask Alex Ferguson what he thought of the Ryder Cup.

While most European sports fans are revelling in the miracle of Medinah, Ferguson was in no mood for chit-chat when asked for a comment during a pre-match press conference in Romania on Monday.

“This is a press conference about a bloody football match,” the Manchester United boss said in response to a question from a Sky Sports News journalist.

“You’ve got to go way over the top with your programme. I’m not answering that. We’re here to talk about football. Christ.”

United play Romanian champions CFJ Cluj in the Champions League on Tuesday evening.
