Watch the Football’s Greatest documentary on Alfredo Di Stéfano

The half-hour programme features interviews with the late Eusébio, Bobby Charlton and the man himself.

THE WORLD IS paying tribute to Alfredo Di Stéfano today after news that he has passed away.

Undoubtedly one the greatest footballers ever to grace the game, the man nicknamed ‘The Blond Arrow’ began life in Buenos Aires where he played for River Plate. After two years in Colombia, Barcelona came calling in 1953 but witnessed arch rivals Real Madrid infamously hijack the deal.

Di Stéfano would go on to win eight league titles and five consecutive European Cups with Madrid. He also switched international allegiance to represent Spain but never got to play at a World Cup.
