Amy Huberman has a dream cast in mind for her new movie... but BOD's ruled out

Huberman’s new movie has the working title ‘Bolt’.

ACTRESS AND WRITER Amy Huberman says she has a dream cast in mind for her first self-written movie.

The movie, with the working title ‘Bolt’, is based on her second novel ‘I Wished For You’. Speaking as the Irish Film Board unveiled their plans for 2015, she said her new venture was a big departure from the acting and writing she is used to.

When asked what castings she had in mind, she said:

I’ve a dream cast, I don’t even dare to say. I’ve a dream team in my head.

Names like Chris O’Dowd, who she has already acted alongside, as well as her friend Love/Hate’s Ruth Bradley were raised, however.

One name ruled out was husband Brian O’Driscoll. When asked would he be making an appearance, she laughed, saying, “he did a cameo in The Clinic years ago”.

Huberman said she was nervous about venturing into the business of writing movies, but that teaming up with Treasure Entertainment and the same producers behind successful Irish comedy The Stag has really helped.

They really mentored me and we spent a lot of the summer going over how to do it. It’s a very different format to obviously writing books.

So when will be seeing Huberman’s first movie? She said it’s only at second draft stage at the moment, adding, it’s still just “a baby”.
