And they say romance is dead: Tuilagi makes amends with Ashton

Manu Tuilagi found a novel way of making up for his assault on Chris Ashton. He brought him to the pictures.

MANU TUILAGI TOOK Chris Ashton out on a ‘man date’ in order to clear up any bad feeling over the punch he landed on his England team-mate last May.

Leicester wing Tuilagi was given a ten-week ban, later reduced to five, for punching Ashton during his side’s Aviva Premiership semi-final against Northampton Saints.

Both players are part of England’s pre-World Cup training camp and the 20-year-old Tuilagi told the Daily Mail how he managed to bury the hatchet with the former Wigan Warriors man – he took him to the cinema.

“We had a night out together. We watched Transformers… Romantic,” he stated.
