THE SHOOTING STYLE of Cork’s Anthony Nash from place balls has been one of the biggest talking points in hurling over the past two seasons but Stephen O’Keeffe may have come up with a solution.
The Waterford shotstopper rushed his fellow ‘keeper this afternoon and was no more than two yards in front of the Kantruk man when he actually struck the penalty.
Unsurprisingly, it was effective.
As for whether or not the move is illegal, it seems it is within the rules.
While it is stipulated under Rule 2.3 in football that a goalkeeper may not move off his line when defending a penalty, the same statement is not in the hurling rulebook.
