Feud

Two held over shooting dead of Benny Whitehouse in north Dublin

A man and a woman are questioned by gardai.

A MAN AND a woman have been arrested in connection with the shooting dead of Benny Whitehouse in Balbriggan last year.

The 36-year-old — a member of the Traveller community — was involved in a local criminal feud when the attack took place.

He was shot dead close to his child’s school in the north Dublin suburb at around 9am on the morning of 25 September.

Gardaí say that last night they arrested two people in connection with the investigation.

The 34-year-old man and 28-year-old woman are being held at Balbriggan and Swords garda stations where they can be held for up to two days.

Another man had previously been arrested in connection with the the murder and gardaí say investigations are continuing.
