It's going to lash rain today and tomorrow

But don’t worry, the sun will start shining just in time for everyone doing their Leaving Cert.

SOMEWHAT PREDICTABLY, IT looks like what we have left of the bank holiday will be a washout, with the weather turning just in time for the start of the Leaving Certificate.

Today is set to be wet and windy with scattered showers – with this potentially going on to become hail and thunder later in the day.

There will also be occasional sunny spells but temperatures will stay between 10 and 13 degrees.

Into tomorrow things will remain pretty much the same, with heavy patches of rain around the country. Strong breezes are also expected.

However, there will be a turn in the weather on Tuesday, with Met Éireann predicting a “fresh, blustery day” with things remaining cool in Connacht and Ulster, but reaching as high as 17 degrees in Leinster and Munster.

As is to be expected – with the Leaving Certificate set to begin on Wednesday – things will return to being mostly “mild and dry”, with only the odd patch of drizzle.

On Thursday things will be mostly sunny, with temperatures reaching as high as 19 degrees nationally.
