'A bit of a tweak' is the verdict on Dublin star Brogan's injury after Leinster quarter-final

The 2010 Footballer of the Year went off injured in the first half against Laois yesterday.

BERNARD BROGAN IS set to consult with Dublin physio team this evening to have an assessment of the hamstring injury that he sustained in yesterday’s Leinster quarter-final.

Brogan today confirmed that it was just ‘a bit of a tweak’ that he had suffered that saw him last just 23 minutes of the Dubs’ win against Laois before going off with a hamstring injury, described afterwards by manager Jim Gavin as a “cramp”.

The 2010 Footballer of the Year didn’t look to be in any serious discomfort as he jogged off to be replaced by Kevin McManamon.

Gavin said: It was just the prudent thing to do, to be cautious on that one.”

If the injury is as minor as suggested, Brogan will have no issues ahead of the provincial semi against Wexford on 29 June.

But after losing their star forward to injury for the bulk of the league campaign, Dublin will exercise their usual caution and monitor his condition over the coming days.
