Keane at Highbury to Kevin Keegan's meltdown: The top dozen Premier League moments

Agree? Disagree? Let us know and you could win an incredible prize to play at Anfield.

WE WANT TO send one of you to Liverpool on a VIP trip to watch the QPR game on 2 May and then… wait for it… play with Reds legends the following day on the famous Anfield pitch.

Just let us know your best football moment using the #the42ultimatefan hashtag, in the comment section below or email ultimatefan@the42.ie. Send us a picture, video or tell us about it — get as creative as you like — and you could be tapping that famous This Is Anfield sign on the way out for a game.

Here’s some of our top moments from the Premier League.

1. Keane chases Vieira up the Highbury tunnel

A rivalry that defined an era and this row summed it all up. Roy Keane took exception to his old sparring partner ‘picking on’ Gary Neville as the teams waited to go out for the 2005 clash at Highbury. The Corkman came out of the dressing-room late, having forgot his captain’s armband and got stuck into the French midfielder with the Sky cameras rolling.

That battle won, United went on to win the game.

2. Di Canio catching the ball

Paulo di Canio was a class striker with a fiery temperament but the Italian showed another side to his character  in 1998.

Everybody’s favourite referee-pusher was awarded Fifa’s Fair Play Award for catching the ball (and stop the game) rather than shoot into an empty Everton net, as goalkeeper Paul Gerrard lay injured on the ground. Bravo.

3. Denis Bergkamp scores a worldy past Shay Given

The iceman added these ridiculous effort to his catalogue of Arsenal goals at St James’ Park with the Ireland keeper between the sticks. Still one of the best scored in the Premier League, Jeff.

4. Delia Smith stirs it up

Delia Smith - Where are ya! Callum Maclean Callum Maclean

The renowned TV cook took to the Carrow Road pitch at half time in a game with Man City in 2005 to urge the home supporters to get behind the Canaries.

‘Where are you? Let’s be having you?’  has entered the football lexicon and Smith’s side were ultimately relegated.

5. Liverpool Newcastle 4-3

One of the games of the decade and a night that went a long way to making Monday Night Football the institution it now is.

Some call it the greatest game ever. It was certainly massively entertaining and there was plenty on the line… especially for the Magpies. Stan Collymore ultimately scored the winner in the last minute on a rocking night at Anfield. Remarkable stuff.

6. Steve Bruce on the double for United

Manchester United lost out to Leeds in 1992 and looked to be on course for another bottle-job 12 months later. But 2-1 down against a good Sheffield Wednesday side, Steve Bruce popped up with two late, late headed goals prompting Brian Kidd and Alex Ferguson into a famous touchline jig.

United went on to win the title of course, kicking off a pretty good run.

7. Introducing Tony Yeboah

The Ghana striker misfired when he landed at Leeds from the Bundesliga before getting off the mark with a point-black, backside finish against Man Utd in the Cup. But then he started doing things like this:

8. When Rafa Benitez did magic

These are facts.

9. Alan Hansen gets it very wrong

The Scottish defender won eight league titles as part of a ridiculous Liverpool team. But you get the feeling his contribution as a Match Of The Day pundit on the first day of the 1996-97 season will be pretty close to the top of his obituary some day.

Hansen famously claimed ‘you win nothing with kids’ as Manchester United were humbled 3-0 at Villa Park. Unless those kids are Fergie’s Fledglings and they go on to win the league and ultimately every honour in the game.

10. Matt Le Tissier does what he does best

He won nothing, didn’t get as many caps as he deserved but every now and then Le Tiss adorned the game with a goal like this:

11. I would love it

It’s not often we get to watch a man have a meltdown on live TV. Kevin Keegan provided us with one of the most memorable TV moments with this emotional response to Alex Ferguson’s mind games.

12. Welcome to Manchester

The noisy neighbours turned up the volume with this cheeky ad in Manchester city centre after their 2009 capture of former Old Trafford favourite Carlos Tevez. The signing spoke volumes about the new ambition and brazen attitude that came with Sheikh Mansour ‘s petrodollars.
