Casinos drop Bill Cosby shows as more and more women allege sexual assault

At least 12 women had made rape and sexual assault allegations against the comic.

TWO MORE WOMEN have made allegations of sexual assault against US comedian Bill Cosby as a number of the performer’s live shows have been cancelled.

Model-actress Angela Leslie has claimed in an interview with the New York Daily News that Cosby summoned her to his hotel room in 1992 and told her to pretend to be drunk as part of an impromptu “audition”.

Leslie says he then asked to drink a stiff drink he handed her before removing his clothes and rubbing against her.

Another woman has also now claimed that she was repeatedly drugged by Cosby as part of a four-year on-again off-again relationship with the actor.

More than 12 women have now made rape and sexual a assault allegations against the 77-year-old who has refused to address the claims.

Yesterday a video emerged of Cosby declining to comment in a TV interview with the Associated Press, and trying to insist that it not air his ‘no comment’.

Cosby suffered another setback Friday as a live performance in Las Vegas was cancelled, just days after the plug was pulled on two TV projects.

The Treasure Island casino in the Nevada gambling hub scratched a show next weekend by the comic, a spokeswoman said.

Stand-up performance scheduled for Arizona and New Jersey were also cancelled, according to local media.

Cosby is expected to go ahead with a show later today in Florida, but his next show after that, in Vegas next Friday, has been called off.

“By mutual agreement, Mr. Cosby’s show… at Treasure Island is cancelled,” said Michelle Knoll, a spokeswoman for the casino. She gave no further explanation.

On Wednesday, the US network NBC pulled the plug on a new Cosby sitcom, a day after streaming video service Netflix canceled a planned special, piling pressure on the veteran comic.

Cosby lawyer John Schmitt told entertainment news website The Wrap at the weekend: “Over the last several weeks, decade-old, discredited allegations against Mr Cosby have resurfaced.”

“The fact that they are being repeated does not make them true. Mr Cosby does not intend to dignify these allegations with any comment,” he added.

The storm engulfing Cosby erupted last month when comedian Hannibal Buress branded him a “rapist” during a stand-up show in Philadelphia — a clip that went viral.
