'Following my leader': Bill Clinton parodies his wife's famous meme photo

The 2012 photo of former US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton went viral.

TWO YEARS FROM now former US President Bill Clinton could be the first First Gentleman of the United States, but he is already following his wife’s lead.

Not only has Hillary Clinton been the only member of the Clinton family officially involved in in politics for the past 13 years, but Bill is now attempting to get in on her social media kudos.

In 2012, a photograph taken by Time’s Diana Walker showing the then Secretary of State on her way to Libya in a military transport plane wearing sunglasses and looking at her Blackberry, went viral thanks to the Tumblr Texts From Hillary.

Clinton herself embraced the joke by creating her own version of the meme and inviting the creators of the blog Adam Smith and Stacy Lambe to meet her.

Then, when Hillary herself joined Twitter last year, her first tweet was to namecheck the two men.

But now Bill has gotten in on the act, somewhat late it must be said, by tweeting what appears to be a picture of himself edited into his wife’s picture.

The shot has the same people in the background, but the two-term president is certainly sporting his own pair of shades.

In fairness, it was decent a effort from Bill.
