SIXTH PLACE IS now firmly in Bray Wanderers’ sights as their local produce continued to blossom tonight with a 4-0 win over Sligo Rovers.

Home-grown talents Ger Pender and Darragh Noone were both on the scoresheet for the second week in a row with Andrew Lewis and Sean Harding also notching on a facilem night for Harry Kenny’s men.

This victory, the Seagulls’ third on the trot, has seen them float to eighth in the table and to within four points of fifth place Sligo Rovers.

The Bit O’Red were completely outclassed at the Carlisle Grounds and frustration saw them pick up six yellow cards, two for Regan Donelon, with four of those bookings the results of fouls on Dylan Connolly.

A 15th minute corner produced the opener. Karl Moore’s delivery was flicked on at the near post by Conor Kenna and Pender stabbed home from inside the six-yard box for his third strike in three matches.

The lead would be doubled before the interval. Gavin Peers’ foul on Connolly allowed Moore a free cross and he didn’t waste it as he picked out the unmarked Noone who cushioned a volley past Micheal Schlingermann’s right hand.

Lewis celebrated his return from his ankle injury as he seized on defensive woes a mere two minutes after being introduced. Peers failed to deal with the long ball and Lewis pounced to lob the Sligo goalkeeper.

Wanderers saved the best until last as Moore rolled a corner all the way back to Sean Harding outside the area. He took one touch and unleashed hell as the ball screeched in via the inside of the far post.
