British Airways to double number of Dublin-Heathrow flights

Service in winter 2012 will see a new 6.25am flight for the really eager flier…

BRITISH AIRWAYS FLIGHTS between Dublin and London Heathrow are to double when a new schedule kicks in at the end of October.

BA has said that the move follows the acquisition of bmi by International Airlines Group (IAG). BA took over the route at the end of June and plans to increase the number of flights from four to eight return flights when the new winter timetable begins on 28 October.

Good news too for those who need to be in London early in the morning – BA is introducing a 6.25am flight.

Simon Daly, BA’s sales manager in Ireland, said:

I am delighted to see the British Airways colours back in Dublin after an absence of 20 years. We appreciate the importance of air links to London and are pleased to announce that less than two months after taking over this route, we are now able to respond to customer demand and increase capacity.

Dublin Airport Authority’s Director of Strategy Vincent Harrison welcomed British Airways decision to double frequency on its Heathrow service, saying it underscored the importance of the Dublin-London route. It also said the move was a result of close work between BA and the DAA since the bmi takeover this summer.

He said that Dublin-London is Europe’s busiest international city pairing with 3.7 million passengers travelling by air between the two capitals last year.”

British Airways operates an all-inclusive fare which include for a 23kg baggage allowance, free online check-in and seat selection 24 hours prior to departure.
