Two charged after €160k cannabis seizure in Dundalk

A number of houses were searched.

SEARCHES OF A number of houses in the Dundalk area have led to the discovery of cannabis valued at more than €160,000.

Gardaí say the houses were searched yesterday with the discovery of  200 cannabis plants valued at an estimated  €160,000. Approximately €2,000 worth of cannabis herb was also seized, both are yet to analysed by gardaí.

Two men aged 25 and 27 years-old were arrested following the seizures and they are currently being detained at Dundalk garda station.

They have now been charged in connection with the seizure, and will appear before Dublin District Court shortly.

Gardaí say that the searches were carried out as part of an ongoing garda operation targeting drug gangs.
