CASTLEBAR MITCHELS HAVE announced the management team of Declan O’Reilly, Declan Shaw, Eamonn Smith and Michael Durkan are stepping down after three years in charge.

They presided over an extremely successful period in the club’s history, winning the Mayo county titles in 2015, ’16 and ’17, while they also delivered a Connacht title in ’15.

They backed up that provincial victory with an All-Ireland final appearance the following March, but Mitchels fell to Ballyboden St Enda’s by 2-14 to 0-7 in the decider.

“The work carried out behind the scenes by these four men over the three years is immeasurable and the club will be eternally grateful for those efforts,” a club statement read.

“On behalf of the club executive, players, supporters and all involved with Castlebar Mitchels, we once again say thank you while wishing them and their families all the very best for the future.”
