Great Champions League £1 five-timer falls short…because of Wayne Rooney

Aguero, Ibrahimovic, Vidal and Bale all chipped in for one punter.

WAYNE ROONEY MAY have set up Antonio Valencia for Manchester United’s first Champions League goal tonight but he’s cost one punter a £4,442.60 return from a £1 bet.

Sergio Aguero lived up to his end of the bargain by scoring a penalty for Man City against Viktoria Plzen.

Gareth Bale fired home a brilliant free-kick for Real Madrid against Galatasary.

While Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Arturo Vidal bagged the first goals of the night for Paris St Germain and Juventus respectively.

But Rooney proved creator rather than poacher against Bayer Leverkusen which scuppered the bet.
