THE SUN NEWSPAPER in England have this afternoon apologised to the Premier League’s highest scoring Englishman after identifying him as ‘unnamed man’ in picture today.
The above image tweeted by Rio Ferdinand on Sunday was used to front a report of a brawl that broke out after the players were permitted to a socialise on ‘Sunday Lunch’ to celebrate Saturday’s 2 – 0 win over Burnley.
However, while the newspaper managed to ID the man taking the selfie and the photobombing Eduardo Vargas, Austin’s face just couldn’t be placed.
They have since apologised and promised swift and painful retribution to the person responsible.
The Sun reported that Steven Caulker was left bloodied after a brawl broke out during the the ‘lunch’ and was taken to hospital. QPR contend that the defender merely slipped and fell.
