CHELSEA LIFTED THE Women’s FA Cup for the first time in the club’s history with a 1-0 win over Notts County this afternoon.

Among Chelsea’s starting line-up was Ireland defender Niamh Fahey, who marshalled their defence excellently on the day.

The 27-year-old former Galway ladies footballer, joined the Blues back in April after eight seasons with Arsenal and becomes the first Irish woman to win the FA Cup at the famous ground, which was hosting the final for the first time. She has now won the competition on five occasions.
