MANCHESTER UNITED’S ‘CLASS of ’92′ (and friends) faced Salford City in a friendly at AJ Bell Stadium last night but the star-studded line-up were handed a 5-1 hammering by their semi-professional Northern Premier League Division One North opponents.

A team featuring United legends and Salford owners Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes and Gary Neville and Nicky Butt as well as Phil Neville, Raimond van der Gouw, Quinton Fortune and Robbie Savage were second best on the night but did grab a consolation when Louis van Gaal’s No2 Giggs chipped a penalty down the middle.
