LIMERICK MADE IT 10 First Division wins out of 10 after defeating Cobh Ramblers at St Colman’s Park tonight.

Goals from Shane Tracy, Lee-J Lynch and Sean Russell confirmed the win, despite a spirited Cobh performance.

For the second game in a row, Limerick were without their two top scorers in Aaron Greene and John O’Flynn.

Despite this, the First Division league leaders were ahead after 15 minutes. Ross Mann’s cross from the right was adjudged to have struck a hand and Martin Russell’s men were awarded a spot kick. Tracy calmly slotted down the middle to put the Blues ahead.

Shortly afterwards, Cobh believed they had an equaliser. Eoin McGreevy’s corner from the left was met by former Limerick player Shane O’Connor. O’Connor’s header was collected by Freddy Hall, and despite the Cobh players’ protests, the officials deemed the ball hadn’t crossed the line.

Limerick doubled their lead just after the hour mark when Lynch finished off a tidy move at the edge of the box. Lynch’s drive was low and powerful – just out of reach of Cobh stopper Paul Hunt.

Sean Russell added a third in injury time after a superb cross from Ross Mann.
