DONALD TRUMP HAS praised Colin Montgomerie for making “winning majors look easy” despite the Scottish golfer having never won one of golf’s most sought-after prizes.

Montgomerie posted a picture of himself on Twitter yesterday at Trump Turnberry, praising the links course only for Trump to unintentionally remind the 52-year-old of his failure at the majors.

Montgomerie enjoyed great success on the European Tour over the course of his career and won the Order of Merit eight times but struggled to translate that form into the major tournaments, finishing second on five occasions.
