5-year-old Kerry fan sends 'Get Well Soon' card to Colm Cooper after cruciate injury

Young Kerry fan Mark Looney reacted after Cooper’s season-ending injury last Saturday.

THERE’S BEEN A huge amount of good wishes towards Kerry’s Colm Cooper since he tore his cruciate ligament in last Saturday’s AIB All-Ireland club semi-final.

And young Kingdom fans have got in on the act to wish Cooper well after he suffered the injury which will rule him out for the rest of the season.

5-year-old Mark Looney plays with Killarney Legion, a rival club to Cooper’s Dr Crokes, but was moved to make this card for the Gooch.

Mark’s father Brian told TheScore.ie that his son is a huge fan of Cooper.

“He’s a really big fan alright. Colm visited his class in school last term which made a really big impact”.

Mark’s card was highlighted by Radio Kerry presenter Jerry O’Sullivan and he is now looking for other school children in Kerry to make cards for the injured star, which the station will then ensure are sent on to Cooper.
