Confirmed: Ireland seeded in Euro 2012 playoffs

UEFA do the paperwork and put to bed any niggling doubts: the Boys in Green are in the top pool for tomorrow’s draw.

WELL WE TOLD you so last night, but UEFA have this morning confirmed that Ireland will be seeded in the draw for the Euro2012 play-offs.

Trap’s side - who beat Armenia at the Aviva Stadium last night - will be in the pot with heavy-hitters Portugal, Croatia and the Czech Republic.

The four teams were chosen based on their national team coefficients ahead of the draw in Krakow.

So, that means the Boys in Green can look forward to a showdown with one of Turkey, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro or Estonia.

The first leg will be played on November 11/12, with the return ties on November 15.
