Corinthians end their interest in City renegade Tevez

Carlos Tevez’ hopes of returning to Brazil to play with Corinthians have been ended by the club.

CARLOS TEVEZ MUST feel like the most unpopular kid in school after his former club Corinthians revealed they don’t plan to end his spell in England.

The Brazilian side had tried to sign Tevez in the summer from Manchester City but the move fell through when they were not able to finance the £40m deal in time.

The striker was forced to stay with City, where he is currently suspended for refusing to come on as a substitute in the Champions League defeat to Bayern Munich.

“At the moment there are no plans to try and sign him again,” Corinthians’ general manager, and former Arsenal midfielder, Edu told the BBC.

“I’m starting to think about our new squad for 2012 and I’ve talked to our coach [Tite] about what we need – but Tevez was not mentioned.

“We are always interested in world-class players like Carlos but you need to analyse if it’s right for you at that time to try to sign him or not. We have not spoken to him or his agent.”
