KILDARE: Shane Connolly, Sean Campbell, Daryl Flynn, Padraig O’Neill, David Hyland, Hugh McGrillen, David Whyte, Mikey Conway, James Gately, Fionn Dowling, Robbie Dunne.

Kildare boss Jason Ryan will be hoping his team can build on last week’s win in a highscoring encounter against Mayo in Newbridge.

Cork boss Brian Cuthbert saw his team win their league opener against Westmeath last Sunday.

Laois man Eddie Kinsella is the referee for this one. 15 minutes to throw-in here. It’s a clear, sunny afternoon in Páirc Uí Rinn.

No pre-match changes on either side.

We’re getting set for throw-in here, the match is just about to start.

Cork 0-1 Kildare 0-0: 1 mins – Lighting start by Cork as John O’Rourke points. Some good foot-passing in that move.

Cork 0-2 Kildare 0-1: 3 mins – Turnover by Kildare as Cork’s John McLoughlin comes out of defence and it’s Kildare corner-back Kevin Murnaghan who intercepts before racing forward to point.

Great goal chance for Cork as James Loughrey smashes through the cover but he shoots low across the goalkeeper and wide.

Cork 0-2 Kildare 0-2: 5 mins – Lovely hooked point over the bar by Darroch Mulhall for Kildare but again the point came from Cork coughing up possession.

Kildare 0-3 Cork 0-2: 10 mins – Kildare hit the front with Cathal McNally swiveling before pointing after being fed by Murnaghan.

Fine , open game so far.

Cork thought they had tied the game through Donncha O’Connor but it’s judged that his effort went wide.

Cork 0-3 Kildare 0-3: 13 mins – Cork tie the game on this occasion through a Daniel Goulding free after a foul on Brian Hurley.

Kildare 0-4 Cork 0-3: 15 mins – Eoghan O’Flaherty gets his first chance to score a free today and he takes it to send Kildare in front.

Kildare 0-4 Cork 0-4: 16 mins – Now Cork draw level and it’s the second point of the game for John O’Rourke. A great individual effort as well from the Carbery Rangers club man.

Kildare 0-5 Cork 0-4: 17 mins – Tomas O’Connor rises highest to meet a Paddy Brophy delivery and fists the ball over the bar for a Kildare point.

Kildare 0-6 Cork 0-4: 19 mins – Fine point from distance for Kildare’s Darroch Mulhall.

Substitute: Early Cork change with Alan Cronin coming in for John McLoughlin.

Not a hugely surprising switch there as McLoughlin had been in some bother trying to contain Darroch Mulhall.

Yellow card for Kildare defender Fergal Conway.

Kildare 0-6 Cork 0-5: 23 mins – Route one tactic pays off for Cork as Daniel Goulding palms the ball down for Donal Og Hodnett to collect and he swings a shot between the posts.

Cork making the chances but not converting them. John O’Rourke blasts wide with a goal after some neat interplay moments after Ruairi Deane’s effort at a point looped wide.

Kildare 0-7 Cork 0-5: 26 mins – At the other end Kildare make no mistake as Sean Hurley points as he profits from good work by Gary White.

Kildare 0-8 Cork 0-5: 28 mins – Now Kildare have gone three points clear with Cathal McNally notching the latest score.

Kildare 0-8 Cork 0-6: 31 mins – Donncha O’Connor tries to lift Cork’s challenge as he grabs a point. Could have been a goal as well after he shrugged off a couple of defensive challenges and charged through before firing over.

Kildare 0-8 Cork 0-7: 34 mins – Donncha O’Connor on target again with a point for Cork after being supplied by a Daniel Goulding poss. The move also featured a 50-yard dash from goal with the ball by Cork net minder Ken O’Halloran.

Substitute: Another change on the Cork team in defence as Noel Galvin comes in for Tom Clancy. Injury woes the reason for Clancy’s departure as he had been doing well on Tomas O’Connor.

Half-Time: Kildare 0-8 Cork 0-7

Kildare go in at the break with a slender one-point lead. It looks like they’ll have to take to the field for the second-half without Emmet Bolton as he was helped off at half-time.

Weather taking a turn for the worse here with huge hail shower as the players emerge for the second-half.

Substitute: David Hyland is on for Emmet Bolton in the Kildare team.

Cork 0-8 Kildare 0-8: 38 mins – All square now after a lovely point by Donal Og Hodnett for Cork.

Cork 0-9 Kildare 0-8: 39 mins – Now Cork take the lead as Brian Hurley grabs his first point of the day after being fed by Donncha O’Connor.

Kildare 0-9 Cork 0-9: 39 mins – Terrific free by Darroch Mulhall from the right sideline as he floats the ball and it lands on the roof of the net after clearing the bar.

Cork 0-10 Kildare 0-10: 40 mins – Third point of the day for John O’Rourke for Cork, the latest score a fine one from distance. But that is soon cancelled out by an effort by Paddy Brophy for Kildare.

Cork 0-11 Kildare 0-10: 41 mins – Fine point by Brian Hurley off his left for Cork, who are moving better in attack since half-time.

Cork 0-12 Kildare 0-10: 43 mins – James Loughrey extends Cork’s lead.

Substitute: Hugh McGrillen in for Fergal Conway for Kildare.

Nasty day out there now as the rain starts to cascade down.

Cork 0-12 Kildare 0-11: 47 mins – Darroch Mulhall has been Kildare’s best attacker today and he’s just struck his fourth point of the game.

Cork 0-13 Kildare 0-11: 48 mins – Glorious goal chance for Cork after Brian Hurley’s pass splits the defence to release Daniel Goulding but he smashed a shot over the bar.

Substitute: Colm O’Driscoll on for Cork instead of Andrew O’Sullivan with Mark Collins now switching to midfield.

Cork 0-14 Kildare 0-11: 54 mins – Mark Collins stretches Cork’s lead with a fine point.

Substitute: Seamus Gately is on for Sean Hurley in the Kildare team.

Substitute: John Hayes is coming on for Cork for Daniel Goulding.

Substitute: Fionn Dowling in for Kildare for Darroch Mulhall.

Seven minutes remaining here with Cork still three points to the good.

Cork 0-14 Kildare 0-12: 65 mins – Eoghan O’Flaherty cuts the gap with a point for Kildare.

Cork 0-15 Kildare 0-12: 66 mins – Substitute Cathal Vaughan, making his debut for Cork today, strikes over a cracking point.

Substitute: Mikey Conway in for Eoghan O’Flaherty on the Kildare side.

Cork 0-16 Kildare 0-12: 68 mins – Cathal Vaughan making a fine impression here as he converts a free after being fouled himself.

Substitute: Kevin O’Driscoll comes on for Cork for his brother Brian.

Goal for Kildare!

Full-Time: Cork 0-16 Kildare 1-12

Some late drama as Kildare grab a goal through Cathal McNally but Cork run out winners by a point.
