Connacht champions Corofin begin their drive for five in Galway with routine victory

The four-in-a-row winners cruised to victory.

CONNACHT CHAMPIONS COROFIN began their bid for a fifth straight county title with a comfortable win over Cortoon Shamrocks today.

Corofin led by 1-9 to 0-5 at half-time with Colin Brady raising the green flag in the first-half.

The four-in-a-row winners cruised to victory over the break and found the net again after the break to seal the 2-14 to 0-8 win.

Elsewhere in the Galway SFC today, Tuam Stars were 0-15 to 0-12 winners over Killannin, Caltra lost to St James’ by 1-15 to 0-5Salthill-Knocknacarra defeated Milltown by 5-12 to 1-12, Moycullen beat Michael Breathnachs by 4-14 to 1-15, Monivea-Abbey enjoyed a 1-12 to 0-11 win against Kilconly and Caherlistrane beat Barna by 1-12 to 1-8.

On Saturday Annaghdown hammered Killererin by 3-14 to 0-3 and Mountbellew/Moylough saw off An Cheathru Ruadh by 0-11 to 0-7. On Friday night, Leitir Moir beat St Michael’s by 2-13 to 1-14.
