LIVERPOOL MIDFIELDER PHILIPPE Coutinho needs shoulder surgery which will rule him out for up to six weeks.
The Brazilian was injured during the second half of Liverpool’s 2-2 draw against Swansea on Monday night.
“After being assessed by the Reds medical staff, it’s been decided that Coutinho will now have surgical stabilisation on the AC joint in his shoulder,” a short statement issued today read.
“Liverpool hope to have the 21-year-old back in contention again towards the end of October.”
