CRATLOE CLAIMED THEIR first ever Clare SFC title today, beating Doonbeg a on scoreline of ten points to seven at Cusack Park.
It was the first time in 126 years that Cratloe — boasting eight senior hurlers with the Banner — contested the football decider. Club men Podge Collins, Conor Ryan and Conor McGrath all started in September’s triumph in a replay with Cork before picking up Allstars awards recently.
The champagne will remain on ice for the newly-crowned champions, however; they will have to line out again tomorrow in the Munster club semi-final against Waterford side Ballinacourty, with Dr Crokes alread waiting for the winner in the provincial finale.
- Roscommon side Fuerty ran out 0-18 to 0-12 winners over Headford of Galway in the Connacht club JFC final at Pearse Stadium.
- Calry-St Joseph’s edged out An Spideal, 2-12 to 2-10, in the Connacht club JHC final in Ballyhaunis, meanwhile.
