Will this happen?

Giaccherini to Sunderland: Let’s start with some actual hard news. Sunderland have signed Italian international midfielder Emanuele Giaccherini from Juventus in a deal thought to be worth £8.5 million.

Gary Hooper to QPR: QPR bumped up their offer for the Celtic striker to a reported £5 million last night and now it looks like it’s only a matter of time before Hooperman pulls on his cape and flies south. Hooper didn’t travel to Belfast for tomorrow’s Champions League qualifier with Cliftonville so this one could be done sooner rather than later.

Stevan Jovetic to City: This one still belongs in the “strong rumour” category for now but when City decide they want a man, they invariably get him. The Daily Mail reports that Fiorentina are on the verge of accepting a deal worth £28 million in total with the Montenegrin striker likely to sign off on a contract worth about €200,000 a week. Nice.

Will this happen?

Fabregas to Manchester United: After a day of buzz and speculation, the bookmakers slashed their odds on Cesc moving to Manchester United to 4/7 overnight. Punters might be better off keeping their money in their pocket if Tito Vilanova is to be believed: “He told me that he wanted to continue here and that he didn’t want to go to another big club. He wants to succeed here.”

Bendtner to Hull: Man without a home Nicklas Bendtner might not be taking his pink boots to Hull City after all. Tigers boss Steve Bruce says the Dane “might just be too expensive” but that could just be a clever ruse to drive the price down, couldn’t it?

Will this happen?

Suarez to Madrid: The latest twist in the Luis Suarez transfer saga comes courtesy of Real Madrid who are reportedly weighing up the merits of a £35 million plus Gonzalo Higuain part-exchange offer. Alan Rickman will tell you how likely that is to happen.
