Derry secure comprehensive win against Monaghan

Roddy Collins’ men continued their recent poor run of form this evening.

DERRY CITY SECURED a comfortable 4-1 victory over Monaghan at Gortakeegan this evening.

Both sides failed to break the deadlock in a disappointing first half, before David McDaid opened the scoring from close range early in the second period.

Goals from Stephen McLaughlin, Patrick McEleney and Rory Patterson then added to Monaghan’s misery, before Tony Griffiths grabbed a last-minute consolation goal for Roddy Collins’ men.
