Costello in for injured Kilkenny as Dublin U21 prepare for Longford semi

The forward’s inclusion is one of two changes in the Dubs’ team.

DUBLIN HAVE REVEALED their team for this evening’s Leinster U21 football championship semi-final against Longford and have made two changes.

Cormac Costello comes into the full forward line in place of the Ciarán Kilkenny, who picked up an injury while on duty with the senior team. Costello has featured in Allianz Division 1 clashes with Kerry and Cork in recent weeks.

Stephen Cunningham comes in to partner Paddy O’Higgins in midfield. Shane Carthy has been advanced up-field, from midfield to the half forward line.

Dublin were not tested in their quarter final tie against Carlow earlier in the month. The young Rainbow County footballers registered just three points in reply to Dublin’s mammoth 2-28. Longford, who made waves in last year’s competition, edged Laois out by a scoreline of 1-13 to 1-12.

The two sides meet at 19:30 in Portlaoise this evening.
