A LATE FLURRY of points from Donegal ensured they will remain in Division 1 next season, at the expense of Armagh.
Armagh led 0-7 to 0-5 at half-time, however a Donegal late show, which included points from Colm McFadden and Adrian Hanlon, helped seal their victory by 0-13 to 0-10.
Elsewhere, a late fightback from Dublin was not enough to prevent their loss to Cork at Páirc Uí Chaoimh.
With the hosts leading 1-8 to 0-5 at half-time, the game looked virtually all over, and despite a spirited second-half display, the Dubs failed to overturn the deficit, consequently missing out on a place in the Allianz League semi-finals.
And in another of the day’s Division 1 games, Kerry and Mayo battled to a 1-12 draw, with the the two sides subsequently both progressing to the semis.
Kerry, who had already qualified, trailed in the dying stages, but a goal and two late points from Bryan Sheehan meant the game finished in a draw.
Down also secured their place in the semis, with a comprehensive 2-11 to 0-10 victory over Laois in Portlaoise.
Conor Laverty’s goal helped give his side a considerable advantage by half-time, while a second goal from Benny Coulter ten minutes into the second period all but confirmed the hosts’ defeat.
