As it happened: Dublin v Monaghan, All-Ireland SFC quarter-final

Monaghan will look to dethrone the champions in Croke Park and we’ll have all the action.

CAN MONAGHAN DEFY their status as massive underdogs and topple Dublin to take their place in the All-Ireland Senior Football Championship semi-finals?

It’s the second of our double-header of quarter-final games in Croke Park and we’re following the action all the way.

4mins: It doesn’t take long for Eoghan O’Gara to pick up the game’s first yellow for an late hit on Colin Walshe.

6mins: The sides are level, Kieran Hughes with a free from out on the right that curls beautifully over.

6mins: Monaghan really should have taken the lead after some good approach play, Conor McManus’ effort drifts just wide though.

8mins: After doing really well to win the sideline ball, Bernard Brogan’s resulting effort slices well wide.

10mins – Twice now Monaghan have almost been caught dallying on the ball in defence. Rory Beggan likes to play football but they’ll need to be careful.

20mins – It’s taken 20 minutes but Conor McManus has given us the first score from play. Dublin doing very little at this moment in time to justify their 1/20 odds before throw-in.

28mins – And Bernard Brogan has their second goal, similar finish to Connolly’s except this it goes through Beggan’s legs

30mins – Alan Brogan gets on the scoresheet now and, in the blink of an eye, Dublin are eight points clear.

For twenty minutes we had a contest but Dublin’s five minute spell in the middle of the half was too much for their Ulster opponents to live with.
