Dylan Hartley's taste for trouble sees him land in hot water once again

Irish referee JP Doyle sent the England international for an early bath this afternoon.

IT WOULD BE fair to say Northampton’s Dylan Hartley has a chequered history. The hothead hooker is never far from controversy and this afternoon received his second career red card for an unsavoury elbow to the face of Matt Smith.

The Leicester Tigers centre had legally cleared Hartley from a ruck but the England international didn’t take kindly to the challenge and responded in kind.

Irish referee JP Doyle was initially going to give Hartley a yellow card for the incident but on advice from the Television Match Official, he brandished a red.

It’s the second time Hartley has seen red against the Tigers after been given his marching orders by Wayne Barnes during the 2013 Premiership final.
