Normal service resumed: Gardaí seize 'Blue Ghost' pills worth €380k

GARDAÍ IN WEST Dublin have seized ecstasy tablets believed to be worth about €380,000.

The drugs were discovered last night when gardaí carried out a planned raid of a premises in Oak Rise in Clondalkin.

A 25-year-old man was arrested at the scene and is currently being held at Clondalkin garda station. He will appear before Blanchardstown District Court on Monday morning.

The drugs, which appear to be the ‘Blue Ghost’ variety, have been sent by gardai for chemical analysis.

Along with the ecstasy tablets, a small quantity of cocaine and other drug paraphernalia was also seized during the search.

The seizure comes in the same week the government was forced to introduce emergency legislation to reclassify ecstasy as illegal.
