1. #PRISON: An overhaul of bail legislation is due to be announced today by government, RTÉ News reports, and will include new powers for gardaí to arrest suspects who breach bail conditions.

2. #HEADFORD: An investigation is underway into the death of a man in his 50s in a workplace accident in rural Galway.

3. #BANKING INQUIRY: Taoiseach Enda Kenny, Tánaiste Joan Burton, and former Minister Pat Rabbitte are due to appear before the banking inquiry to answer questions on how effective the Dáil and Seanad were in overseeing the economy.

4. #BRING THEM HOME: The HSE has launched a campaign to encourage nurses and midwives working abroad to return home. It’s looking to attract 500 staff with a relocation package of as much as €1,500.

5. #OLD BANGERS: Aviva and Allianz are refusing to insure vehicles older than 15 years, the Irish Independent reports. The move only applies to new customers, with the insurers claiming the vehicles are involved in more collisions.

6. #GULL ATTACK: A seagull breached security at Leinster House yesterday, the Irish Daily Star reports, possibly wishing to protest recent calls for a cull of their brethren. The paper quotes Sinn Féin leader Gerry Adams, a self-confessed seagull lover, who is against a cull.

7. #ATHENS: After a marathon debate into the early hours of the morning, Greece’s parliament has passed legislation on a second batch of reforms needed to help unlock its next bailout.

8. #TAX FREEZE: The Herald reports that the property tax is due to remain unchanged until at least 2019, despite significant changes to land valuations in some areas.

9. #STAY SAFE: The health executive has secured the purchase of 500,000 condoms for the National Condom Project, according to the Irish Examiner. However, they are remaining tight-lipped on how much it will cost.
