DOROTHEA FINDLATER CAST her vote in the European and local elections this morning at Guardian Angels National School in Blackrock, Dublin.

The 104-year-old told photographer Laura Hutton that she voted for Fine Gael’s Maurice Dockrell, adding that she had voted for his family since the 1920s.

Currently, RTÉ News reports a turnout so far of just over 30 per cent. According to its local reporters, a relatively large number of voters have turned out in some areas.

Cork City has experienced an unusually high number of early voters, while Dublin languishes behind slightly at 10 per cent.
