STAR ATTACKER EMLYN Mulligan is set to captain the Leitrim senior football side for the 2013 campaign.
Mulligan, who featured as Leitrim won their opening FBD League tie against Roscommon on Sunday, has been appointed to the role by joint managers Barney Breen and George Dugdale.
The Connacht county face Mayo in their next Section B tie in the preseason provincial competition in Ballinamore next Sunday afternoon.
Mulligan has been a leading attacker for the county in recent years and helped Melvin Gaels win the Leitrim senior title last year.
However Mulligan is set to play his club football in 2013 with Dublin outfit St Brigid’s. The Longford-based Garda confirmed before Christmas that he was to link up with the Blanchardstown-based club who won the Dublin county senior title in 2011.
Leitrim’s 1994 Connacht senior winning captain Declan Darcy previously lined out at club level for St Brigid’s.
