Dual star Cadogan opts to concentrate on football for 2015

The Cork defender won’t play hurling next year.

EOIN CADOGAN HAS decided that he will only play football next year.

The 28-year-old Douglas back has been a part of the Rebels’ senior team since 2007 while he began playing inter-county hurling a year later.

In 2008, Cadogan left the football panel to concentrate on hurling but returned a year later. Now he has informed managers Brian Cuthbert and Jimmy Barry-Murphy that he plans to dedicate his time to football in 2015.

“I am delighted to have Eoin on board for 2015,” said Cuthbert. “Preparations are under way for the year ahead, and we look forward to returning to competitive action.”

“Obviously we are disappointed to lose Eoin but we wish him well with the footballers in 2015,” added Barry-Murphy. “The door is always open for his return to Cork hurling should circumstances allow.”
