ESPN to offer 'Tiger only' channel for the Open Championship next week

It’s like the Truman Show, except with golf.

THE GOLF WORLD is gearing up for the Open Championship at Royal Liverpool — and for the return of Tiger Woods.

After missing the Masters and US Open with a back injury, Woods will tee up for his first Major of the season at Hoylake next week.

His presence adds even more buzz to golf’s oldest Major and ESPN are making sure that fans won’t miss a single shot by providing a ‘Tiger only’ option every day.

“ESPN3 will offer a live feed following Woods for his entire round each day he plays,” the US broadcaster announced yesterday.

It is unlikely that viewers on this side of the pond will have the same all-Tiger, all the time access. Although BBC will screen around 40 hours of live coverage over the four days, their red button coverage will focus on an “Open leaderboard, three-hole feed (13, 14, 15) and other clips.”
