Fair Deal

Fair City is getting its first ever Credit Union

Now Carrigstown REALLY has it all.

THE RESIDENTS OF Carrigstown have had it all.

Deaths, affairs, marriages, murders, violence. But they’ve never had a facility in which to save their money and get loans.

Until now.

The soap is to get a Credit Union as part of a new three-year sponsorship deal. But will putting a real business in with a fake town be distracting? Jane Gogan, head of drama at RTÉ doesn’t think so.

“The presence of the Credit Union in Fair City is a natural fit for our drama in that it reflects the values and mores of community life in Ireland. We are very pleased with this development and how it fits into our plans to make the show better and more relevant for RTÉ’s audience.”

The CEO of the Irish League of Credit Unions, says the move is an exciting venture.

“We are delighted to partner with RTÉ on this and look forward to being part of Fair City’s storyline over the coming years.”

In 2011, the producers signed a deal that has seen a Spar located in Carrigstown.
