Fantastic Mr Fox? Sven keen to bring Robbie to Leicester

Everybody’s favourite Ireland striker could be on the way to the Championship.

ROBBIE KEANE COULD be set for a move to the Championship with Leicester City expected to finalize a deal for the Spurs striker within 48 hours, the Daily Mail reports.

The Republic of Ireland captain is believed to be Sven-Goran Eriksson’s top transfer target after West Brom beat him in the race to sign Keane’s international team-mate, Shane Long.

Keane, 31, has struggled to break into the Spurs first team since rejoining from Liverpool in the summer of 2009 and is now surplus to requirements at White Hart Lane.

Reports indicate that Leicester are prepared to offer £3m for the Tallaght man’s services, but with the striker currently on £80,000 a week at Tottenham, they could struggle to meet his wage demands.
