Favre's family rubbish talk of comeback

Legend’s mother and brother try to kill annual speculation before it gets even more ridiculous.

KEEP CALM AND carry on – Brett Favre won’t be coming out of retirement for one last hurrah.

At least, that’s according to his mother and his brother who have been speaking to Al Jones of the Biloxi Sun-Herald.

The annual speculation over the legendary quarterback’s future was sparked last week after NFL insider Gil Brandt indicated that Favre would jump at the opportunity to lace up his cleats again if he could find a team to work with.

But if the 41-year-old is considering a comeback, his family appear to have been kept in the dark.

“I would say there’s less than a 1 percent chance [he would return],” Favre’s brother Scott told Jones. “He is retired.”

The star’s mother, Bonita, was similarly dismissive of the suggestion, saying “I would hope he would not do it. He is crazy if he does.”
