Fergie fumes at Crouch, as Coleen lets Rooney secret slip

The England striker’s wife prematurely let slip that her husband would be taking no part in United’s game with Stoke.

STOKE WERE GIVEN a heads up from the unlikeliest of sources ahead of their game against Man United last Saturday – Coleen Rooney.

The wife of Wayne Rooney let slip via Twitter that she was at home watching a Beyoncé DVD with the the England striker on Friday, while the rest of the Man United team were in a hotel preparing for their game against Stoke.

Ferguson’s presumable frustration at Coleen for prematurely revealing that Rooney would play no part in the game was exacerbated by the on-field behaviour of Peter Crouch who, he claims, receives preferential treatment from referees.

The United boss said:

“He gets off with it because of his height but he jumps on top of defenders all the time. He has been doing that for a long time.”

United drew 1-1 with Stoke on Saturday and dropped their first points of the season in the process, as Crouch cancelled out Nani’s opener.

Ferguson also bemoaned his side’s growing injury list, with Javier Hernandez having been added to the contingent of absentees, along with Michael Carrick, prompting the veteran manager to describe last Friday’s training in which Carrick pulled up as “a nightmare session”.
